Do Lies Matter?

Or, perhaps more aptly put, does truth matter?

BP Still maintains that the amount of oil flowing from the the hole in the ocean's floor is nearly impossible to determine despite a near unanimous consensus amongst leading experts and scientists that it is not only possible but actually quite simple to determine the flow, averaging out the results of several methods. Although it is "impossible" to know according
to BP, they still somehow come up with the magic 5000 number. 5,000 barrels a day. They stick to it like its fly paper. Gee, I wonder why all those silly scientist folk say that the real number is somewhere between 70,000-100,000 barrels per day (See posts below).

Things Are Getting Worse, BP Suppresses Truth
Engineering professor Bob Bea at the University of California at Berkeley, who has spent more than 55 years working and studying oil rigs, says that the oil spewing from the abominable drill scar is getting darker in color, and that is disastrous news. The darker oil is highly toxic and only further endangers the species of the oceans. I say oceans because this spill has entered into the loop current which will push it out into the open sea beyond the gulf. Oh ya, BP says the darker oil doesn't matter. The monstrous, underwater oil plumes are roaming the gulf killing everything in sight and creating dead-zones devoid of life. Unfortunately, I'm not exaggerating or making this stuff up.

And, I don't wanna freak you out, but did the Hopi foresee this oil disaster in their ancient prophecies? Weird.

Does it matter that BP lies at the detriment of precious ecosystems that took billions of years to evolve? I guess not. Humanity must be an infant to disregard the immediacy and urgency that this "accident" requires. Planet Earth must be feeling stretched to her limits, trying to provide for us as we ravage the support structures that hold the web of life together.
