It's absurd how the media, society, and, ultimately, the collective conscious assume that the restoration of the gulf is a linear sort of event that consists of progress and ends with the gulf returning to its original, prolific state. Naievete galore. Undoubtedly, all the consequences of this wreckage have not surfaced yet. Though the egos of society have been temporarily placated by placing the blame on the BP execs and increased "regulation", the microbiological and ecological ramifications are only begining to mount and cascade. More will be revealed....
